Alexander Read

Principal Second Violin with the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal since 2013 and concertmaster of the Montreal Bach Festival Orchestra since 2018, Alexander Read enjoys a versatile career as orchestral leader, chamber musician, baroque violinist, and pedagogue. Mr. Read's interest in historically informed performance has led to collaborations with leading ensembles such as Les Violons du Roy, Ensemble Caprice, Pallade Musica, and Infusion Baroque. Mr. Read is a professor at the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal and a faculty member of the Schulich School of Music at McGill University.
