Simon Alexandre

Simon Alexandre is a versatile musician with varied interests. He is equally active on the early music scene, the folk music scene as well as the classical music world. He can be seen performing on the Early music stage with Ensemble Arion, Ensemble Caprice and Orchestre Galileo. As a multi-instrumentalist, he plays the fiddle and nyckelharpa with Skye Consort & Emma Björling and Duo La Traverse, two musical groups blending Scandinavian folk music with French Canadian folk music. He is as well a member of Orchestre Philharmonique du Québec and Orchestre symphonique du Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean and regularly performs with Orchestre symphonique de Québec and Orchestre de l'Agora. Simon holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree from Université de Montréal as well as a Graduate Diploma in Performance and an Artist Diploma from McGill University.
